Jeff Sweitzer graduated from the University of Minnesota with two degrees: Bachelor of Environmental Design, 1972 and Bachelor of Architecture, 1974. The first twenty-one years of his career was spent at the Minneapolis firm of Bentz, Thompson, Rietow, and Associates Architecture and Urban Design. He was promoted to an Associate position and consequently to a Principal in the firm. From the years of 1995 through 1999 he practiced at the Minneapolis firm of Miller Dunwiddie Associates and was also promoted to Principal. To broaden his background of experience to include residential practice, he joined the firm of Sharratt/MacDonald Design and was promoted to Director of New Home Construction. He became the Director of Design for Commercial Architecture, as the firm transitioned to Sharratt Design and Company. Currently he is the Principle of uudesign, llc.
Mr. Sweitzer has 35 years of ongoing practical experience and has worked on more than 200 projects, mostly in the state of Minnesota. His experience includes the traditional method of project delivery of programming through construction administration and the design/build process as well as interior design, selection of furniture, furnishings and equipment and product design. As noted in his résumé, his work experience is varied and extensive. “As a simplified design philosophy I try to address the project’s program with artful and well- executed solutions while providing direct and personal service to each client as quickly as possible.”
